Pipe patching
Northeast Sewer & Drain Service did sewer pipe patching for the City of Portland at the Central Kitchen on Waldron Way in Portland Maine this morning.
This is one option of sewer line replacement that Northeast Sewer & Drain Service offers. We are able to pipe patch from 2″ to 24″
The interior line was televised and was found to have a connection problem. The original connection was compromised and would have over time opened up and allowed gravel and sand into sewer pipe clogging it completely. The City of Portland decided to have the pipe patched now.
With our drain camera we pinpointed exact location of the sewer pipe repair that was needed, this was found under where the woman’s restrooms will be located. We marked it out for the city maintenance men to jack hammered out an area approximately 4x2x2 to reveal the pipe.
Northeast Sewer went to work:
Ryan is preparing sewer packer with fiberglass epoxy resign to install as a pipe patch.
Pipe packer has been installed into pipe down stream approximately 12ft where pipe repair is needed.
The epoxy was left to cure for 1.5 hours, then pipe is reconnected, the hole is back filled with proper material and the floor is re-cemented.
You can see the pipe before and after pictures on our YouTube channel:
